News at BMA!

We’re excited because Poets of Nature released a few months ago has turned out to be a surprise hit. The Bestsellers box on our website is for website sales and doesn’t take into account bookstore sales, Amazon.com or downloads from Audible.com. Poets of Nature is at the top of the list when all those venues are taken into account. It’s nice to know that some of you out there still love poetry.

And speaking of bestsellers, Inner Christianity is always in the top 5 sales category for us as well. Author Richard Smoley of Inner Christianity published by BMA on audio has recently come out with a new book, The Dice Game of Shiva, published by New World Library, that is getting rave reviews from Publisher’s Weekly, among others.

The Dice Game of ShivaIn his book, “Smoley examines the roles God has played for us and reconciles them with what we today know through science and reason. In the process, the engagingly down-to-earth Smoley shows that consciousness is the underlying reality beneath everything in the universe. In one of Hinduism’s great myths, Shiva plays a dice game with his consort, Parvati, and loses consistently. If he is the greatest god, why does he lose? Through this story, Smoley explores the interplay between consciousness, represented by Shiva, and experience, exemplified by Parvati. He draws on numerous disciplines to offer an illuminating exploration of mind and matter and a provocative understanding of consciousness, the self, and the world.”

We think Richard is a tremendous writer and scholar and in the words of Publisher’s Weekly, “This is a serious, almost old-fashioned history of ideas about transcendent and human thought rather than a cheesy come-on about how your thoughts can make you rich, beautiful and successful.”

Here’s a link to a recent radio interview if you’d like to hear Richard speaking about his new book. You’ll enjoy it tremendously. BMA is very proud to have Richard represented among our wonderful authors.
